On July 1st 2014, we said goodbye to our home in Arkansas!
First off, let me tell you how much I HATE long, boring car rides. I get car sick like no other & must always have a handful of trash bags near me at all times. The first day of our 3 day trip was no different. We started out the day saying goodbye to our home in Arkansas & heading to Texas to drop our car off to be shipped over to Germany. We literally pulled into the parking lot of the place with less than 20 minutes to spare. If we would have arrived 20 minutes later we would have had to stay the night in Dallas, which would have extended our trip home. Thank goodness we made it, even with all the crazy Dallas traffic, construction and 4 car pile up! After dropping our car off, we continued with Dan's parents to finish the rest of the day off with driving.
Texas:

Texas was just as I remembered it. Too many people and everywhere we went had Texas shaped waffles. We only stayed one night in Texas, coincidentally it was the only night I got sick. If you can't tell, I'm not a huge fan of Texas. No particular reason why, I've just never been a fan. Maybe one day we will get stationed in Texas and I'll have a change of heart. But, until that time comes, I was more then ready to get out of Texas!

New Mexico:

Again, Anna had to have her Emi-kitty with her, but she threw her right before I took the picture!
New Mexico wasn't too bad, I don't remember too much about it other then lots and lots plain fields. Dan was extra excited about finding a Del Taco right before we checked into a hotel for the night after a long day of driving. Annabell was amazing in the car all day long, I couldn't have asked for a better child to road-trip with!

Arizona/Nevada:

Annabell was extra excited that today was our last day of driving before arriving at her Grandma and Grandpa's house in Nevada!

This was by far the longest day of driving for us, we were so close but so far away at the same time. We got up early and headed out to Las Vegas. We all did some shopping for my sister in laws wedding & I was so excited to stop in Vegas and eat some In-N-Out for the first time in two years, but of course my body decided that I didn't need my cheeseburger that badly and blessed me with some more car sickness and a nice little migraine on the side. Luckily it passed quickly because before we knew it we were all back on the road again for our last stretch of 4 hours before arriving in Ely Nevada!
The road-trip wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. We had great company with us, Annabell absolutely adores her grandparents! Saying our goodbyes to our amazing friends in Arkansas was by far the worst part of it all. We thought that after we got to Nevada it would be our last day of driving, but after moving a few schedules around we decided to head to California a week early so we could make it back to Nevada in time for Dan's sisters wedding! So the next morning we headed out of Ely and into good ol' California! Annabell was amazing the entire 4 days of driving. She was so well behaved and listened so well, I am forever grateful to have such an amazing little girl!
I miss all my friends in Arkansas already!
